One can ask you to consider "Adaware" and "Spybot" these two programs search for spyware and malicious small programs that may be hogging your connection reporting to the masters in places unknown. These two programs are free to the individual user.

Use of Norton Internet Security and Antivirus cuts down on ads etc being loaded as you download the forum or any other place you visit. "Shoot the Messenger" is a program designed to turn off your MSN pathway of spam advertisers which will slow down your conection.

Servers are robust machines. They are designed to handle multiple clients and are usually fault tolerant. I remember from the early 90's the local library had literally a bunch of modems for each internet user going thru a gateway and dailup was the fastest thing going sometimes many users log on after school or on friday nights etc taxing the network.

I have since gone to DSL and have no problems here. Good Luck with your internet use and let us know how you do.

Lee
