Hi Ed, Well I've never had any of those myself as they didn't fit the era that I model but a friend of mine has a bunch of them and I'll describe what he does...they come out nice!! Don't worry about the windows, they never were intended to look like glass anyway.
1. Inspect the casting to be sure there are no pin holes in it. If so fill them with with some plastic model putty.
2. After the putty is dry sand it off smooth and also remove any flash from the casting.
3. Prime the casting with a gray primer.
4. He airbrushes the casting using thinned Testors PLA enamel. ( The ones in the little square bottle.)This makes a shiny new car look if that it what you want. Don't worry about the window areas.
5. Use Model Master Bright Chrome for the chrome trim.
6. Paint the tires semi gloss black.
7. Now for the window areas...paint them with a very dark gloss blue...it will look like a car that you can't see inside of but gives the effect of glass there...no it doesn't look like a tinted window.
8. Use ModelMaster Insignia Red for the taillights and white for the headlights etc.
Hope this helps....Vic
