The Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific !!!

I miss all of them! However, I have chosen to model the Northern Pacific, which was the second trans-continental. I think the competition of all the RRs was good for the country. Now we have mega corps., which have manners akin to the proverbial bull in the china shop. Glad to hear folks in the true west have opinions about where west is! Those folks east of the Mississippi, think it starts on the western bank of that river.

The Katy ran close to my old back door. Then we moved and I had the sounds of the Rock Island Line at night. They are now replaced by the BNSF and TRE.
