The Backdrop Blues

For me I do a lot of landscape painting and I enjoy painting my backdrops like I would do any other painting(other that keeping in scale) but if I were modeling a city I would be totally out of my area of expertise so if I could afford it I would buy the best back drop possible. I think a good back drop will give a model train that feel of realism that I think you're looking for.
