Cuda - What version of windows are you upgrading from? Here is a link directly to HP's website and the download for version 2 of HP photo & imaging software (it is the first on the list). Perhaps version 2 will solve the problem.  Actually, all the links on this page are specific for your camera. Your problem with the small message window could be display resolution.  Does everything look smaller than before?  If so, right click your mouse on your wallpaper, choose properties, then settings, and use the slide bar to lower the screen resolution. I must admit I am not familiar with Exporer v. 7.0.  In my long experience with computers and software, I have learned the addage that "pioneers are usually the ones with arrows in their backs".
