I gave the engine a break in today and it runs fine at mid to high speed but at lower speeds it seems to be really jerky, anyone else have or had an issue like this with either this broadway engine or another one? What did you have to do? I can't run the engine on low speeds due to the extreme jerkyness, i really don't want to take this thing apart, i hate messing with steam engines. Thanks!
Have you tried lubing the valve gear? I usually lube my steamer's every 3 months or so, frees up the moving parts for easier slow speeds. Label No. 108 is a good oil to use. Just a thought.
