To my way of thinking, this discussion thread has turned into a great example of exactly the problem cited. Lots of confrontation, judgment and folks trying to prove they're 'right'. I certainly don't think there's any chance a potential entrant to our hobby reading along would feel welcomed by what's happened here or think "Wow, I can't wait to be part of this world!" QED.
