Welcome! I just got started in the hobby this year. I'm building a small 2 X 4 diorama/layout (N-scale) to see how much I like all the various aspects involved in building a layout. My layout will include several structures (I'm working on a rolling mill right now), a small stream with a truss bridge crossing it, and several turnouts leading to short spurs. This way, I get to try a little bit of everything before too long---might be a good way for you to "test the waters" also. Have fun!!
