Modelers and Rail-fans have different terms. Yes, it's annoying! (even though I say turnout and switch)

From what I understand at first modelers called it a switch at first and then somebody changed it.

Do they do this on purpose to **** you off, of are they just ripping on ya?
My relatives, for the most part, try to use proper terminology. When they don't, it's intent is joking.

The only one who says "choo choo" or "play with trains" is my loser-*** brother-in-law. [:(!]

My grandmother really is that clueless. My mom seems to think that 1: I am a grown man, 2: Model trains are for little kids.

Also: Mother, grandma and I walk into the hobby shop. My grandmother looks into the displays and practically shouts: "These things are too expensive. What kind of crazy person plays with toys this expensive? It's stupid!" I immediately move to the very back of the shop and pretend not to exist. [B)][:(!][:0]

Probably the reason we use turnout is because we have electrical work on the layout.

"This is the switch that controls the switch, and there's another switch under the switch that controls the switch's frog, which changes when I press the switch and move the switch." is kinda confusing. [%-)]

Cats on the Layout!

Even though I love my cats I hate it when they get on the layout whlie I'm out. I tried covering it and they sleep on top of the plastic tarp!

I would say when I have to listen to my non railfan friends complain about my obsession with trains, to the point where my one friend is up to saying "I`m sick of you and your stupid trains!" But actually, I kind of enjoy it. It reminds that we are a unique and proud bunch!

Things that I really don't want.
Example. I gave major sighns that I wanted an SP&S switcher for my xmas...Instead I got clothes. I think clothes qualify as a mean gift to give to somone. Clothes are a need, not a want. Thats not to forget the Christmas spirit though.
