Iam new to the hobby and just wanted to know what scales people run? I have two HO train sets that were given to me over the years, and put them away till I found them in abox in my shed. I took them out and put some track together and they still run. So that got me thinking, I went to walmart and bought a couple of mags on RR modeling, now Iam hooked and have stated to put a layout on paper! Even got the ok from the wife to build a 4x8 layout!

Next piece of advice is to find a local hobby shop and buy your train stuff there rather than at Wal-Mart. They'll have a better selection and probably be cheaper, and the clerks there can provide advice rather than looking at you funny for being a grown-up buying trains...
I model HO traction, with occasional delvings into HOn3.
