HEY!!! where's the S scale? If you're going do another scale poll you have to include them all.

I like S scale because for me it represents the best compromise between big enough to work on and and small enough to have a layout in 11'x18' that does what I want to do.

I have to admit that the long trains the N scalers run can be tempting. But then watching the big G trains run by looks pretty good too.

Enjoy
Paul

I model in HO. Mainly becasue I have invested in it since the age of 4. If I had a clean slate. it would choose 1/24 scale Guage II. The bigger parts fit better in my big hands.

It's HO for me, too. I feel it's the perfect scale to capture realism and detail. Plus you can have a basement empire, or a small 4x8 layout. But, I do have a 2x8 (I think it's 2x8) piece of wood down stairs. Maybe I'll do some N or possibly Z. Who knows, it's all good! :)

N Scale for me however,i do have some HO scale stuff not alot but enough to build a fair sized layout.
I am also trying to get into the ridable 1 1/2scale 7 3/4 gauge but dont got the two grand it takes to purchase a small electric loco and riding car.

Aw well i can wish cant i?

HO is the true "king of scales". I've been in 1/87 scale since childhood. I dabbled in N a few years ago, but returned to HO.

All scales have merit, but for me it's H. O. The size is perfect--not too large or small. Greater variety in locomotives and rolling stock is obviously a lure. I'd like to experiment in N scale...but geez, the prices on some N scale equipment is so close to that of H. O. models that I can't justify the time and money.

We have some of all and a whole bunch of pre. '1905 HO Steam.
Our newest are two On30. I think if I had it to do over, I would go On30.
