Good looking Crossing signals and HO Tower Signals
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 2:16 PM
Greetings!

With my road almost done, I'm looking for a realistic yet fairly inexpensive set of crossing signals (50's-70's or even modern) to put at my crossing. I'd be looking to have a blinking back and forth setup along with automatic activation by the train. I've looked through walthers and just got confused. Anyone run across a good set of these and a good circuit to use with them?

Also, I'm looking to put some block signals in as well on my layout with automatic block detection preferable. Again, I'm looking for realistic yet fairly inexpensive and obviously, ones that actually light up. I'd like to get one or two over track tower setups for two tracks and a few that are just on a pole. I also like the 3 light vs the one light.

Thanks!

Go to http://www.berkshirejunction.com/. I bought their flashing crossbucks at a train show and they work great. They are activated either by photo transistors imbedded between the rails, or by infrared LED/photo transistor pairs where the approaching train breaks the IR beam. I bought the photo transistors, but then figured out if you are doing night operations with the room dark, the crossbucks flash alll the time.
