Point taken. I really want to model Light Rail too. I'm just saying that more and more people are getting into the hobby. Obviously not all kids. Kids can't afford a $600 loco or lrv. They can afford an Athearn or two. I tried Athearn, wasn't too pleased and moved onto Kato. Kato doesn't make every thing I want so I still run some growlers. If two manufacters made lrvs they would be really hot sellers. I would probably purchase 20-30 myself, and make the new layout I'm planning a LRV/mixed freight layout. Most people I know in the hobby who model the modern day would be interested in purchasing at least one or two. There are people out there who do model the modern day. Just look how fast Kato sold out of the CP MAC90/43. You can't even find those on ebay anymore. (all of this refers to HO Scale). Some of the roadnames on the SD70MAC they released are the same way. So someone is buying modern.
