I was curious to see what day you guys work on your railroad the most????? For me I would say Friday and Saturday Afternoon, Sundays are used for football and racing.

Hope to hear some feedback

Whenever the mood strikes me. I don't set certain workdays. I did that when I had to go to work, but like you, never on a Sunday in the Fall.

don't know. when i get free time i'll try and start building. going to school then coming home and working for 5-6 hours and then come home and do homework i don't think i'll find a lot of time. probably saturday's and sunday's if i ever start.

We Bengals have lost just about everywhere, including the SuperBowl, but hey, we got two wins this season!

Of course, this past Sunday, instead of keeping up with my Bungles, I was busily chopping up an SD-45 to receive its NW-standard high nose. I do the most modeling on the weekends, for sure, according to the clock, but I actually get the most done on weeknights. I think this is because of my heightened sense of the value of time, because once the weekend comes I just want to sleep in, watch movies, and just plain do things slow. Life is too fast for me, I was built with a lower gear ratio...

I am a college student, and have one of my layouts here, so pretty much ever day as a stress reliever. Other times I use it just to get stressed....lol

I hope that's a landmark and not your nickname...

I work evenings and nights so I typically work on my layout on Monday and Tuesday afternoons before work, plus a few hours on the weekends while the wife is home, as I can pretend I'm doing yard-work. ;)

When my job with the Government isn't workin' me 24-7, I go and try to do some building or progress. I work some horrible schedule and am always glad to have a day to run trains.

Similar story here. Huge Chiefs fan (8-0 baby!!!) who does no railroading on Sunday afternoon. I have a pretty regular date on Saturday a.m. 9-noon and try to get an hour or two in after 9 p.m. a couple of times each week.

We have a two year old at home, so most of my work gets done during his nap time on weekends, and also a few nights a week after he goes to bed. It is surprising how productive I can be between 9PM and 11PM.

Benchwork construction was a challenge because the noise woke him, but now I am onto more fun things like track laying and scenery.

Anyway, I work on my layout daily after work before making dinner. And on the weekends. Mostly after sunset, which here in MI is pretty early these days.

Sunday- Sunday- Sunday!

Well after all it's the Alpha and Omega Model Railroad Ministry and part of the church's outreach project. So it gets used on SUndays after church and sometimes worked on then, or when the will strikes of course.

I'm not that big of a football fan so that's not too much of an issue.

Medically retired I work on my railroad daily. I scratch build everything from the electronic circuitry to landscape and structures. Although I buy locos and rolling stock off-the-shelf I do detail them to as close to prototype as possible.

so, dhuff, you scratchbuild circuitry, eh? How do you make a 100 ohm resistor from scratch? Just kidding. ;-). I usually get in one or two weeknights for an hour or two each and usually a couple of hours on one of the weekend days. Chiefs or not, I'm not much of a football fan so there's no conflict for me when the game is on. I usually don't know the score till I see the news Moday morning prior to leaving for work. One of our local radio sportscasters is an old buddy of mine and I try to catch his Monday morning comments on the way to the office.

I was in my favorite hobby shop (it was near a sales call) yesterday afternoon and met a narrow guage modeler. His interests are so much different than mine yet we both get tremendous enjoyment out of this hobby. That is one of the neat things about model railroading.

I work on the railroad whenever the mood strikes which is at least five days out of the week for about a couple hours - sometimes more sometimes less - per day. I sometimes work on it while attending to other activities like reading the posts on this site.

Whenever I can and when the mood stikes me. It's funny how the most work gets done before an open house or a photoshoot. I probably need more of them....
