Old Varney kit-Casey Jones 2450K
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 18, 2001 7:25 PM
I acquired an old Varney kit (built-up),from an
estate sale. It is in reasonably good shape for
its age, but the engine has no power pickup wiring
or wheel wipers. Naturally the instructions are
long gone!
Does anyone out there have information on this
engine, or can they lead me to such info?
I'd certainly appreciate any help!
Thank you. 1940jones@msn.com

Bowser Manufacturing acquired this locomotive from Varney and still sells it. See www.bowser-trains.com. I have one and can tell you there are no pickup wipers, the locomotive picks up from one rail and the tender the other. There should be a wire from the motor to the tender, that's all.

Hi Gregg,
Thank you for the quick response! It figures it
would be something simple, since there were no
mounting blocks, extra screw holes or anything on
that old Varney. I'll get it put back together
and try 'er out. Again, thanks for the help.
