The JMRI software is better at programming decoders then the ZUG. However I like using the ZUG for additional cabs. I have my laptop connected to my Lenz via USB and have 6 loco's running on the ZUG software. Each of the 6 loco's has it's own cab on the screen which is readily accessed via the mouse. This eliminates fumbling with controls, knobs or buttons.
