ertl # 15066: Kenworth with 2 John Deere Tractors
Posted by krump on Monday, October 13, 2003 2:54 AM
ERTL makes (made?) a diecast HO scale, white with green logo Kenworth Tractor/Trailer unit complete with 2 John Deere Farm Tractors (newer, wide front wheels).
It is not in the Walthers catalogue, but I know that it was in the newest ERTL catalogue of collectibles. The product number is # 15066. The hobby store has had 4 of them on back order for the past 8 months (when I made the mistake of deciding to purchase "later") - I thought I'd by plastic instead of diecast... big mistake. I can't find it or a listing of it anywhere.
I have only seen this item on one occasion 8 months ago. Price was approx $35 Canadian.
My understanding was that it was a NEW product within the past year.
I've checked the ERTL webpage but there is no way (that I know of) to do a search for a specific product. I'm running out of ideas... has anybody had the opportunity to buy this item recently???

cheers, krump

A couple of suggestions, first have you checked ebay?May be one on there. Also another option is if you know of a local John Deere dealership,go in and check them. Most dealers here in the states carry at least a small line of JD toys.If you are really interested in one I can have my dad check next time he is at the dealership. He is a farmer so he goes there quite often.Email me if you are interested at gaisaw@columbus-ks.com Put something in the title so I will know it's you that way I won't accidently delete it.

My understanding, and it is only that, is that Ertl decided to leave HO and concentrate on their S scale collectibles. I think I have the very truck you refer to (and no it is not for sale) but I bought it years ago at close out prices due to what I was then told was Ertl dumping their HO on the market. That is when you could get their very interesting freight cars for about $4 and their pre built buildings for around $14 -- much reduced.

i believe i've seen your JD KENWORTH at HOBBYTOWN USA in charleston s.c..it seems to me it's been sitting on the shelf forever collecting dust.i'll check next time i go which will be today or tomorrow.
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.
