That is why it is a good practice to open the petcock under the tank after every use and drain the tank. You should also put the water separator at the end of the hose opposite of the compressor. Also don't use an extension cord on the compressor, it will trip circuit breakers and may overheat the motor. Use a longer air hose instead.
