MRC Tech 4 Problems

A while ago I bought a Tech 4 power pack from Model Rectifier Corp, I started running my locomotives, and after about 10-15 minutes the engine would just stop, or reverse. I checked/cleaned the track and everything was fine (too me). So, I called MRC and they said to send it in, so I did and when I got it back I had the same problem. I did this severl times, and I did not get anywhere so I bought a Tech 3, which is much better (knock on wood). I am wondering if I am the only person with a problem like this?
I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

My Tech 4 will change the direction by itself too. However, as far as I can see it does so when there is some discontinuity that has caused it to do so. For instance, if the locomotive comes up to a turnout that is thrown against it, and stops because of the dead track. (My turnouts are gapped at immediately beyong the frog, both branch and main) Similarly, if I haven't changed polarity in a reversing section. The loco stops because of the short, and the direction in the Tech 4 changes by itself. I've not experienced the direction changing spontaneously. Is your track clean? ( I guess it must be reasonably so, or the Tech 3 wouldn't be working for you., however, maybe the Tech 4 is more sesitive in that regard.)
