Richard, Hard to tell based on what little information you gave as to a problem. Where are thye stalling? On turnouts? On straight level track? Across crossings? If its intermitent its not a wiring problem. First thing I would check would be dirty rails, followed by dirty wheels. Then see if the locomotives have dirt, dust, hair inside on the commutator brushes or on other engine parts. Are the gears binding inside tghe locomotives? They might be dirty. Then I'd check the rail joiners to see if they are loose or rusty. Then I'd check the solder joints that connect the wires to the rail. Then the solder joints in the block switches. Cold solder joints may look fine but in reality they are just barely contacting.

Start with wheels and rails first..

Hope that helps..

John in Jax
