One important thing to remember is that sometimes when you have a bad deal that it's not always that the seller is trying to cheat you, many times they're just too stupid to know any better. There are many trains for sale on ebay by people who are not train dealers and have no clue about model trains. How is someone who's not familiar with model trains going to know if a certain part is missing on an engine they found and are selling on ebay? Sometimes people can just make an honest mistake and get two brands confused, etc. Just use your own knowlegde and judgement when buying trains on ebay and if you are unsure of something from the picture or description given, don't be afraid to ask the seller. There are many great deals to be had on ebay if you play your cards wisely.
