I'm sorry folks, what could a person possibly do with the amount of engines some purport to have. This subject comes up 2 or 3 times a year and it boggles my mind (and a few others) that people really do have that many engines (to each his own) Is this normal, do people in other hobbies hoard also? do people have 50 - 75 motorcycles? 200 ferrari's? how about 46 sets of golf clubs or 200 fishing rods, maybe they do. Just mention to someone that you are a model railroader and then tell them you have 25,50 80,125 locomotives and watch the reaction, this is still a great mystery to me, now I will wait for the justification and I'll be no further ahead--easy now --just a comment.
[/quote]

I've seen on TV where a guy "hoards" license plates. Has thousands of em'! And they don't even do anything! Why? Who knows?

There was also a story a while back where a car wash was thinking someone was ripping them off. All kinds of coins missing from the change machine. Turns out a bird had quite an affection for nice shiny quarters and had found a way to get up into the change machine! A further investigation found lots of quarters on a rooftop nearby! Why? Who knows?

As for me... I like shiny, new locomotives, so I collect them. Why? Who knows? [:)]
