can somebody please help me. I was wondering what locomotive would be better for switching a small yard a GE U28b or a GE 35 TON. don't have the money to power my SW1200 right now but it could be coupled to one of these locos above.
Thank you for your help

derailment? what derailment? All reports of derailments are lies. Their are no derailments within a hundreed miles of here.

I don't know a great deal about either model so perhaps another modeler would be of more assistance but I would think the GE U28B would be best model to use in most situations. The 35TON only had 4 axles on the rails versus 8 with UBoat. Additionally the UBoat would have much greater horsepower than the 35TON. If your model layout yard is very small and switches only a handful of cars a day then perhaps you should use the 35TON. Otherwise perhaps you could always station the 35TON at one of your larger industries and retain the UBoat for yard operation.
