Yes you can use any decoders, but your MRC 2000 can access only two functions. <br /> <br />No you can't use sound. But the sound decoders are really expensive. By the time you have money for a really decent DCC system, the prices will have come down on the sound decoders. <br /> <br />I have a saying - "the worst dcc is better than the best dc." And your MRC 2000 is the worst of dcc. But it will get you into the dcc game, you'll learn lots about it, form your own opinions, enjoy no block running. And be more knowleadgeable in your next dcc purchase. So although your MRC 2000 is the worst of dcc, it is way better than anything dc out there.
