plastic vs. foam liners in loco boxes

i think that the 'solid' plastic/cellulose liners in loco jewel-cases are the pits!
down here at the bottom of the world (in new zealand) i often find that after the 12000mile journey, many locos 'scuff' their bodies on these liners and lose some of their paint/decals etc.
10/10 to those manufacturers who use foam type liners and 0/10 for those who don't.
