BASIC WIRING BOOKS
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, April 19, 2001 8:54 AM
I have just started an HO layout. I have drawn it out and now I have to wire it. I was wondering if anybody had some advice for a basic wiring book to get me started?

Atlas and Kalmbach Publishing both have good books out there. When wiring, trust me on this, color code your wiring!!! I had to rewire a layout because I didn't color code it! Not something I want to do again.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Terry.

I will color code my wiring.
I researched the Atlas and the Kalmbach books and the atlas was much cheaper than the Kalmbach. Does that mean that the Kalmbach explains better, and in more detail, or are they equal?

They cover the same things. Kalmbach's books are usually a collection of articles found in the pages of MR. I found that the Atlas book was more staight forward.
