Thanks [/quote] If you have the room for a prototypical HO layout, then I would say you're better off to model in HO. Simply because there is is a greater amount of scenery details available in HO scale. N scalers have to create much of their scenery details by scratch. If, however, space is a limiting factor, I would definitely gravitate toward N scale. I prefer N scale because I can model a geographical area much better in an apartment than I could an HO layout. Size is the biggest issue. If all you can model is an oval layout in HO, then your layout will become awfully boring awfully fast. The detailing in the rolling stock and locomotives I feel far exceeds what is commonly seen in HO. There is quite a selection of rolling stock and locomotives available in N scale.
