Lots of stufff happened today-
-Got the driveshafts in the mail. Put one on. Runs great.
-Both the elec. wires that pickup power on the AC4400 broke and need to be soldered sometime.
-Dad got back from a business trip and brought me a L-L trainset. ToysRus was going out of business and they were on clerence for $55 - figure 8 over/under power-loc track, operating crossing gate, stock pen/ loading station, a few trees, 4 nice freight cars, caboose, and a hi-nose Sane Fe GP38. I was surprised a train-set engine was as nice as it was- the motor appears to be bigger than my old gp38- yes i've called these T-set engines every name in the book but they're not bad at road spped. Some gear noise and they don't run well at very slow speeds but other than that i like it. Watching a train run around a fig8 is almost as much fun as running the big layout. Heck, if i add 2 power-loc turnouts, a package of straight track and it'd be a nice little layout.
- the new Athearn RTR sd40-2's will be out in march now [tup] but i can only get 1 of them that early. (vs. buying 2 at once)
