There are several magazines ,1/2 dozen forums and a ton of very well done Slot layouts out there.The Ebay market is rampant with not only the old, but the new and unique as well as custom products. Slots are far from being gone!!! Like you, my interest in trains made me blink. I was amazed at what was out there and improvements made since the 70's. You wont believe what Parma's done with slot controllers :) The hobby has some organization to it also and even includes sanctioned Slot drag strips. Far from Dead Joe.......I hope one day you re-explore the world as I did.
