I wish all the worlds manufacturers would make their models so that models made anywhere could easily be converted on any countries model railroads.

Well in real life the soviets made the track gauge different in case of invasion. It worked when Hitler invaded. As for models There are plenty others out there I dont like to pay the jacked up cost of imports anyway.

Well, there's really only 2 sets of Standards. NEM and NMRA, NEM is for anything European, and NMRA is for North American stuff. Most everything else follows one of these standards.

Unfortunately, the two standards are not entirely compatible. NEM's deep flanges cause problems on NMRA spec track. And the real-life stuff isn't compatible, so the fact that the models aren't isn't entirely surprising.

Then there's the oddities (OO Scale, Narrow gauge, anything running on 1 Gauge track)
