I'm not really sure why everyone has so much of a problem. If you put in a bid of $10.00, and someone bids $10.50 with 5 seconds or 1 second left, they beat you. THEY BID MORE. It's not when you bid. It's how much you bid. If you're willing to go as high as $20 in a last second bid, why not just put that in earlier? That's what I do all the time, and that's how I've gotten 80% of my stuff. Yes, I've lost some auctions, but they all went over the amount that I was willing to bid.
