Thanks Tim, yeah, i've been down that track before... it's a crap shoot unless you know the dealer personally and have experience with his repair capabilities. which is precisely my problem, i don't. the only dealer that i've dealt with repaired my VW and then sold it to me... the "repair" lasted about four months, and now i'm looking for someone ELSE to re-repair it. he'd like to sell me new stuff but doesn't seem to be too interested in the service aspect of his business. hence, my search for those among us who have personal experience with a reputable, and reliable repairman... even if he IS on saturn. Lew
