Everyone who is starting out can be helped by a mentor. There is so much to learn and so many places to make wrong turns. Some guidance is very helpful. I also agree that some people are just born to do certain things...cars, trains, guitars, skiing etc. No matter how much you push, If some one doesn't have that "train gene" they aren't going to stay in the hobby.
