Has anyone kitbashed either of the Bachmann 4-6-0s to modernise them with piston valves, round steam dome and sandbox etc., and would you care to share with us?

I have a Spectrum 'high boiler' version of the engine. My eventual plan is to make it look more like a Milw G6 steamer. I plan to build up piston steam chests using a styrene 'wrapper' and lower the headlight to the front of the smokebox for starters. The project started with installing a Soundtraxx sound decoder last spring. Have not gotten any further with the project.
