ADD EDIT: I finished adding rivets, added doors, grab irons and a roof. I had an enjoyable time getting my fingers unstuck from the model and quick CA glue. [xx(]

Brass smokestack form Calscale assorted details from spare toy diesel bodies a friend had given me. Window glass made from clear-drying, flexible canopy glue.

It debuted on Nov. 4 for take your train to work day and dutifully ran at realistically slow and lightning fast toy-train speeds to the delight of all the newsroom. Photographer and train buff dubbed it "Scoot." My daughter still like Pegasus. So .... It will be the Scoot frieght motor, or whatever, made by Pegasus Locomotive Works -- me. The car shops are already chopping a 70 foot Athern heavyweight coach to 58 feet for so it can accompany Scoot on last minute fun runs and specials to no where in particular.

Gentlemen, this is the "Pegasus." It's the working name of a kit bash model which orginiated because I didn't have a decent looking shell for an HO GE 25 tonner.

http://ignatius.zoto.com/galleries/pegasus

So, off with the shell. I hacked off the tail of a smooth side observation and used that for my head. Then .020 styrene in wood panels for sides and .030 rivets to hold everything together.

Will be finishing up by take you train to work day on Nov. 4.

Will someone tell me what this ought to be called? It could remain the Pegasus, but what fictitious or real prototype could it be? What could I call it for a nickname?

I open for any suggestions.

Not sure what you mean.
In real life, a kitbash?
In model terms, perhaps a boxcab (or more like a box motor, except diesel powered like a boxcab - I have seen pictures of wood box motors, but all the boxcab pictures I have seen were all metal).
Hmm, maybe one of those disguised (enclosed) steam loco from the turn of last century used for working industrial/street trackage where horses were present, in order not to spook the horses.

Looks not unlike a trolley line's MOW unit - needs some snowbrooms or similar underneath, maybe a small trailer behind it? Might also be a good idea to add a set of cab windows at the other end and maybe some big doors in the sides for loading tools, etc if you want to follow this idea. Good luck!

A couple of Howitzers maybe! Conning Tower?

Matt has a good idea as turning it into a breakdown train or a MOW. Put a boom with a cherry picker on it. I like the brushes and maybe a spreader/ballast plow.

Here's an example of an electric boxcab--much larger, but similar in line:

About 30-40 years ago Ken Kidder produced a line of small carbodies designed to fit on an Athearn Hustler frame. Similar sort of idea--"shorty" doodlebugs and boxcabs.

This critter could also feasibly be a direct-drive diesel or gasoline locomotive.

It's a "Framitz" or definately a "Thing-a-ma-Bob". Pegasus will do too. Find it a home and a mission for the critter.

If that isn't the coolest looking thing I've seen latest. Great creativity, and good craftmanship. The names are cool as well. Scoot seems to fit it perfectly in my opinion.[:D] COOLNESS![:D]
