Sure sounds like most of Walthers animated products - you always have to tweak them to make them work as advertised, if at all. Too bad they cannot produce something that works without having to fix it yourself. I understand their operating transfer table didn't work very well either, it was later discontinued. Same as their rotary car dumper, major work required to make it do what it was supposed to do. As long as you understand this and are prepared to make something of theirs work I guess they are passable. I wonder why this is? Do they design these models and have them produced overseas without any testing of prototypes? "Oops! That doesn't work very well. But let us offer it to the hobby public anyway." Bob Boudreau
