I can't imagine buying something and then not using it. I collect a lot of things...for instance, comics...every book that I've bought has been handled and read by me. Otherwise what's the point? I used to collect action figures, after seeing how much some of the older StarWars figures went for in their original packaging...but then I thought where's the fun in that? It's a toy, play with it or pass it on to someone who will enjoy it more than me. <br /> <br />I can't imagine buying a kit for that much and not actually using it. I know of people who do this, but it is very strange. The original creator of this kit put the effort into making a product people will enjoy. How can you enjoy it when it's sitting in a box on the shelf? What's the point? Why not just sell empty boxes to those who don't want to actually build the model...I'll gladly take the innards off their hands.
