Compatable shells
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 10, 2005 11:45 AM
Hello everyone. Quick question. I have an Ho Scale "UP" FP-7 Locomotive made by 'Atlas Australia". I'm currently modeling Burlington Northern. I want to change the "Union Pacific" shell to a "Burlington Northern" Shell. Only problem is that I don't know what "BN" shell that would be able to fit that mechanism. I like the quiteness in that mechanism. Anyone has a clue to what I can do? Thanks for reading.........................

First of all, it was made in Austria.

The model was made by Roco, and most recently imported by E-R models.

The only shell that will fit without a lot of modifications is a FP-7.

You have a couple of options:
1. Re-paint your existing shell.
2. http://www.walthers.com/exec/search?category=Locomotive&scale=H&manu=&item=&keywords=FP7&instock=Q&split=300&Submit=Search; and paint.
Nigel N&W in HO scale, 1950 - 1955 (..and some a bit newer too) Now in San Jose, California

Thanks for the options, but I'm not doing any painting myself. I never done it and I know it take pretty good skill to get it the way it suppose to look. That's why I'm not doing it - lol. Anyway. I know it was made in Austrailia by Roco, Roco has or is going to be putting out the FP-7 "BN". I saw it online of what it looks like. Looks good. The only thing is, there's no date mentioned of when it will come out. I'm hope that's out already so I can buy now. If not, I'm going to have to wait for it. [:(]

Hmmm, I've got or had an Atlas BN FP7 somewhere. I think I had it in the "to be repainted" box. I'll look this weekend and see if I can scare it up, maybe it isn't already in NP colors.

Roco models are made in A U S T R I A, in Europe, next to Germany. And not in Australia - on the opposite side of the world!
