The to best shops for trains, are The Train Shoppe on 900 East and 5th South in SLC, the other is MRS in Sandy on about 9400 South and 9th East. The Train Shoppe is my favorite, even though I live a long way away. I forgot to mention that the museum in Ogden is also home to the Browning Firearms gun collection and what is left of the Browning families antique car collection (yes the Brownings were from Ogden).

The best train show in the state (as far as I'm concerned) is also in Ogden at Union Station. It is usually held sometime in March, but I haven't seen a date for it yet, and they have the entire museum open during the show. They even have volunteers available to tour some of the preserved 1:1 stuff!

I'm sure you're aware that Promontory Point is located here as well. It's about an hour west of Ogden. Make sure if you go that the replicas of Jupiter and 119 are going to be operating that day. It's a long drive for not much if they aren't running....just my thoughts though.

Enjoy your trip out here!
