Try doing a manual reset via the jumper plug if this doesn't work you may need to reset the command station,not sure about digitraxx.Are you saying you cannot set volume with the manual control knob.You may have engine operating in stand by or disconnect really have had no trouble with mine so not sure if the e7 uses the stand by and disconnect feature like the newer qsi decoders.I will find out though give me a yell tonight on AOL here is a little pic from old 1948 trains mag ad.thought you might like it .
