I was visiting a craft store, one of these chain style hobby craft stores that you expect women to more frequent, like frames, and decors, but they stock
some train stuff, more toylike and such. In there was a small modular style toy train, roughly N scale, but the cars were all toy design with the kid in mind, Diesels with only 4 wheels, you get the idea, and they run on batteries,
what was curious is they were good looking stuff with some variety of equipment with mini layouts witch switches expandable to make bigger layouts. Very sharp curves like 3 inch radius...
a module is about 8 inches square or so.
There were separate trains you could buy and modules. Pretty cheap, 15 bucks for a starter set with train and module or 2.
One set had a cityscape with a Philadelphia style looking rapid transit car!!
I almost bought it just out of curiousity!.
Looks like a heckuvalota fun for a kiddie to start in the hobby, look out for the big boys tho...
/me lurks the store again...

Must of been Hobby Lobby.
If we don't get any response to this thread, I'll probably start a new one.
I wondering how well they run.
