Coming events
Posted by t-whistler on Thursday, May 5, 2005 7:24 AM
Since MRR no longer prints a current events section in the magazine

could someone tell me where to find it on the web. I need a list for Minn.

especially for May 7 & 14th.

Thanks a lot.

You can also sort by location, etc.

Take care,

Hello,

In addition to that link... if you're on any page of Trains.com outside of the forums (pages that have the left hand word navagation), click "Schedule of events" under the Resources heading.

I DON'T KNOW WHERE COMING EVENTS IS EITHER. I JUST FOUND MY WAY HERE LOOKING FOR IT. I'VE NEVER USED THIS SITE BEFORE BEFORE BECAUSE I'D RATHER READ ABOUT TRAINS IN MY EASY CHAIR, THAN HUNCHED OVER THIS LOUSY COMPUTER. ENDING "COMING EVENTS" WAS THE STUPIDEST THING MR COULD HAVE DONE. THE "WORLD'S GREATEST HOBBY" MAGAZINE IS RUN BY THE "WORLD'S DUMBEST EDITOR" SINCERELY, MIKE MORRIS

UNIONPACIFIC3, first of all welcome to the forum! [#welcome] I hope you stick around, this is a great place to get and give information on the hobby. The folks here tend to be very congenial (for the most part) and friendly! I think that the vast majority of the people here also decry the fact the MR has dropped the events listing from the mag. Many of us are putting some pressure on the powers that be to reinclude the listing in future issues. (Hope I don't have to drop my subscription and get that other mag....... Are you listening Bergie?)

I believe what ftwNSenhineer was trying to tell you is most of us are not hard of hearing so you DON"T NEED TO SHOUT!!!!!!

Enjoy your trains! [:D]

Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO

We'll get there sooner or later!

I also hope they reconsider. I live in area where I can attend events in PA, OH and NY. It's alot easier to thumb thru the pages of MR then having to enter three different states online.

The loss of coming events will hurt many clubs. It is the only way to advertise. Most do not have budgets that will support paid advertising. I travel a lot and make plans by where open houses and shows are. How can I check an address from my car or while on plane. This decision will hurt the hobby a lot. After 47 years of subscribing only to MR I will be look for a new model magazine ! ( No I am not that old, my dad got it 1958)
This is stupid decision in favor of advertising dollars. I can agree that commerical shows (GATS, Greenburg) should not recieve free space
