I'm being acused by wife of losing it LOL

For the last 40 years all I have collected is O/O27 mainly Lionel ( 20 1/2 years with her ) any way the other day a freind (my wife say some freind he is lol) Came over with this lionel HO scale train set at first I said I don't collect HO but I looked and in it was the mercury space capsul car (one sold on ebay the other day for $62.00) the rocket fuel car (one sold for over $300.00 ) anyway your getting the feeling of the value which i had no idea at time but knew in O/O27 these were some collectable cars it also has the tubo misle launcher and exploding boxcar along with a nyc gp-9 and caboose all in original set box. Well the guy told me he paid $25.00 for it to give him $35.00 if I wanted it or he would take it to the flea market and sell it. So I did and now I can't get enough HO am I losing it or what. Oh yeah hers the cherry on top talked to one ebayer who collects Lionel HO and told me that the set is a promo set not a lot made and never has seen in his seven years on ebay one for sale it could bring anywhere from $700.00 to over $1000.00
