MY LHS! They gave me money
Posted by Fergmiester on Sunday, May 1, 2005 2:43 PM
[:0]Yes it's true. I went in on Friday to pick up decoders and I saw they had LL Proto 1000 Dominion Atlantic (CP livery) RDC's on sale for $50 each. I said wow I might get another and Mike (co-owner) said "That's right you bought two at $70 each a month ago, so you get a rebate". How many LHS's do you know would do that for you? Though I have to admit the savings were immediately reinvested[:-^]

What a great hobby

That's beyond good, that's amazing - I get discounts at one LHS but nothing like this - can usually negotiate around 10% off on large items that they've had in stock for a while. Good deal!

Such a deal....

One could HOPE that other LHS ( and, yes, they do read this forum) would start to follow this type of good business practice. First, the shop owner remembered the individual, and that his customer had ordered decoders previously AND that he had paid a higher price. Pretty good memory and good business sense.....

Are you other dealers listening?

[:I]I forgot to mention my 10% discount on top of all that.

Duh!!!

I think I'll get the yellow/green CN one next.

They also carry a Decoder with a one year, idiot proof decoder that allows you to MU several locos and turn off all the lights except the lead loco. This may not be a new thing but....
