Greetings -
I'm new to this group...also am returning to the
hobby of Model Railroading after many years
away from it.
Have recently retired, moving from a "major city"
with many hobby shops, to a small rural town
in the wilds of Maine.
Therefore, I seek your advice on where to get
PECO (N) flex track and turnouts at the lowest
prices. I'm not a big fan of ordering on line, but
it seems like that's now the only way to get what
I need. Many thanks in advance for your collective
wisdom and advice!

I doubt that one is cheaper across the board than the others. Also, Peco prices fluctuate a lot because of the varying exchange rate. At one time or another, I've ordered from each of these companies with no problems.

Hi, MaineRRNut, and welcome aboard. After you've hung around here a while, you'll notice that one of the periodic topics concerns the relative merits of ordering online vs. buying from your LHS (for Local Hobby Shop.) There's no reason to restrict yourself to one or the other. I'm relatively new at online buying, but so far I've been really happy with it, and I've had no problems. Today, for example, the postman showed up with my miniature video camera to put in an engine cab, and I found the box by my door while leaving the house for an excursion to my LHS, MaineTrains. That shop, by the way, is in Massachusetts.

with some checking of a sellers feedback you can get some great deals on ebay you can also must know we have haters and lovers of ebay in here so I say take a real good look at pics if not sharp and good beware if no pic beware I've gotten some great deals and some great heart breaks on ebay but as a hole I've done well.

Yes, there are lots of online places. Another good reference is your current issue of MR. Most of the advertisers have been around for a long time and most have a web site, so get ready for great shopping!!

Always make certain that the web site you order from is a "secure" site, usually denoted by a "locked" padlock down in the lower right corner of the browser window. If the browser does not show this padlock, then the web page is NOT using a secure method for accepting your credit card number. Use caution when ordering from sites like this.

Enjoy... and expect some delays when ordering...even online or via the phone. It seems that sometimes pieces parts are advertised, but may not be available. Such is life....Once again...Welcome.
