Generally subscribers receive it before the stores.

My local Wal Mart sometimes doesn't put RMC on the shelf until the week that I know subscribers are getting the following issue. I used to subscribe to RMC, but I found I didn't get as much out of each issue as I do MR, so now I just check it out on the news stand and buy the issues that have must-read articles--about 1 in 4. Of course I look forward to my MR each month in the mailbox--hope mine comes today.

I don't expect mine till Saturday or maybe Monday if this delivery is typical. I used to subscribe to RMC in the days when Tony Koester was editor. He did a great job, ofter more interesting than MR was at the time under Russ Larson, I believe. Since Tony's departure I buy it once in a while. MR still comes to the mailbox. Terry is doing a very good job, but I miss Andy.

Cheers,

Ed

Sorry to say , I don't subscribe, I get mine from my local newsagent , at least I do when it eventually becomes available , the last two months have been late . The April one was got last Friday , and you guys are talking about the June edition , heavens knows when we'll see that in U.K. Happy reading CPPedler.

I've never subscribed to MR. I always thought that if an issue didn't appeal to me, then I wouldn't buy it. Thing is though, I end up buying them anyway, even if they don't have much that interests me. Actually, I don't remember the last time I didn't buy one. I always get them at the magazine store downtown. The local hobby shop guy won't carry them at all.

She obviously doesn't realize Mother's Day is two weeks away. Talk about bad timing on her part. [:)]

I had a friend that owned a hobby shop, but wouldn't carry MR or Trains. He complained that he didn't make much of a profit on them. I kept my opinion to myself, but I always felt that a hobby shop couldn't approach any sense of respectability until it stocked MR/Trains and RMC/Railfan. If it carried other titles, so much the better.

As it was he went out of business after not too long. I can't say whether other customers also perceived this lack of "respectability", and if so whether that had any effect on his eventual closure.

No matter how well stocked, I have a hard time trusting a storefront (versus online) hobby shop that doesn't carry a variety of hobby magazines. It tells me that the proprieter doesn't care to keep himself (or his customers) up to date on the latest products, techniques and trends; and therefore, any questions I may have will not be met with informed answers.

It's amazing, i got mine in the UK over a week ago, its got some very good content, but you will have to wait and see, i don't want to spoil your fun
the best thing to do is subscribe for more than one year and you get a very good discount,
tell your wife she's mean, mine always gives it to me
