have a look at these, this has daily updated video clips taken in the northwest of England http://www.burgess57.freeserve.co.uk/railways.htm this gives you the latest news about loco's etc http://www.wnxx.com/ this is the website of the class 40 preservation society http://www.cfps.co.uk/ and the last is the East Lancs Railway http://www.east-lancs-rly.co.uk/index2.php
there are loads of links on these to more sites

Another one that might be of interest: www.railcar.co.uk - website of the UK-based Railcar Association, a group formed by owners of 1st-generation diesel railcars. They have news, technical data etc and links to other related groups.
