Houston Train show-Hit or Miss?

Went to the Houston train show.
I think this show is getting smaller every year.
I only bought 2 Athearn kits and some detail parts.
Good prices on those, Johns trains.
Also met a fellow BN fan, Charles Biel? He had some awsome photos.
I did not like the location, I prefer the Humble location.
And lunch and food was scarce. I had to leave early to find something to eat.
Overall had a good time.
What was your impression this year?
Mark

I was there from about 1 to 3 and did i ever scarf on the rolling stock ...especially the stuff from john's trains...got about 10 new pieces of rolling stock and didn't pay over $5 a car, got an SP SD40 for $25 and scarfed up couplers, trucks, decals, and a bunch of tools...I think they should have had more layouts...I kind'a liked the S scale they had up there...more stuff for sale than operating model railroads...sorry i missed you guys....I was asking around if anybody was fwdguy or TIFFY but they looked at me like I was crazy so i quit asking...Chuck

We had our club layout there so we were their from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. I went to three clinics and learned something at each one. I got to spend some time with Ben from Papa Ben's, and Wayne from Houston Roundhouse and not have to worry about the time frame. I droped about $200.00 on some really good buys.
The "S" guage layout was well done - if I didn't have so much money in HO I might switch. I could see the detail
without
the optivisor.
I very much enjoyed the show, had a good time and met some more nice people.
