Hello Guys I am going to try something and Here it is
I am requesting a good video that you can send me of your HO layout
1.complete layout
2.Some operations
3.Detail scenes
4.You explaining some of the things you like to
5.a brief interview if youd like of the size of the layout when you started it, what operating system you are using, What era it is
And I am requestings you give me the right to make copies and use them.
I would like to combine about 10-20 layouts edited on one VCR tape and distribute them for a reasonable price. If you agree I will send you a completed copy too.
The reason I want to do this is because I really love and want to see more HO layouts and those dvd or Tapes I see for sale are of Lionel and not HO so I want to start this with Volume 1. I think this will do great and I will need your help. You may have your layout featured on the Volume 1 Tape.
Does this sound like a good idea that you will be interested in doing and more input would be helpful but this is what I am going to do. Here is my email so if you agree and want to participate we can talk and make plans to send me a tape. It is ButchCassidyUP@wmconnect.com [:D][:D]
This is very cool I think. How about you? Your layout does not even have to be 100% complete to participate.

We'll have to get past the plywood expanse stage before we can consider something like that but its a cool idea. Good Luck with it.

Allen Keller has layout tourrs galore, I think he's up into 40 or more of them by now. These are professionally done one hour tapes with more that you would ever want to know about the featured layouts. The later ones are now available on DVD.
I doubt if very many amateurs with home video cameras would or could offer anyway decent videos of their layouts. Usually there's not enough lighting to provide a decent view, focusing with amateur cameras can be a problem, lack of knowledge of how to do a layout tour right, ability to edit out the bad parts and goofs, etc.
But I wish you good luck in your quest. Might be a suggestion to try it in your own area with local modelers first, to see what kind of quality you can expect.

I think this will work great because all the operators have to do is video record all their stuff. I am going to receive them and do massive editing and copying then making DVDs. If I get 30 tapes and only 12 of them are good copies I will use 12 of them. These Layouts are not going to be like the professional ones and that is the point of doing this. I do not want to have all the 25'x45' layouts in one DVD. I wanted to have various sizes and in many different stages so regular people will have the chance to see a regular layout with the exception to the layouts that are near perfect that will make volume 1. So all anyone has to do is do it as best as they could and I will edit and do the rest on my end. I think this is a great idea and can happen. It will happen.

Cmon and participate because the fact of the matter is you HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LOSE by sending a video of your precious layout, your creation. Take your time and focus and get proper lighting if you do not already have it. Wouldnt you like to see a buntch of MR forum guys layout in 3D and not just in a railimages shot? It will be fun.
