Road

I am currently building a 8x12 HO layout with plans to expand to fill the entire 20x20 room. I was wondering if anyone had every rounded the roads in an intersection. So they would not be a 90 degree angle. I'm trying this but I may cut back to a 90 degree. Have anybody ever used this
approach in HO Scale I've seen it done on a few N layouts but never HO?

I have used strips of Balsa wood to provide the formers for the road then filled in between them with plaster. Use push pins or small nails to hold them in place until the plaster sets.

My mom did this when my parents built a layout when I was six. If you want to be accurate, you need to use about a 25 ft radius for these. In areas where tractor trailers are often found, the radius for turning is 50 feet. Even greater radius will be found in areas with tractor-trailer loading and unloading such as freight houses and intermodal yards. - Ed

Thanks to both Adrian and Ed. That helped very much!
